Appeals to the Member States, OIC and other Islamic Institutions, such as the Islamic Solidarity Fund, and philanthropists to mobilize funds and contribute generously towards providing humanitarian assistance to the Kashmiri people.

So, in the short run, the IMF will have to be used, if that kind of support is needed, and Sarkozy will have to swallow his pride.

We believe that the IMF needs to move decisively on financial stability issues and be more proactive to help prevent and mitigate future crises.

Regrettably, throughout this process of recovery, expansion and transformation, we did not have the support of the International Monetary Fund, which had provided support until only weeks before the convertibility regime.

In the area of development assistance the Netherlands supports non governmental organisations (NGOs) operating internationally and specialist UN organisations (UNFPA and UNICEF).

With its ability to mobilize large financial resources and buttress policy credibility, the IMF can help mitigate the large economic and social costs often associated with crises.

That is why we support the initiative to create a United Nations youth fund that would facilitate economic assistance for youth representatives of developing countries and give them the opportunity to participate in all United Nations forums directly concerning them.
