The Division also provides limited administrative support to offices of other United Nations entities located at the Vienna International Centre, such as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Office for Project Services, and to the United Nations Interregional Crime Research Institute located in Turin, Italy.

(b) Administrative support and finance services (extrabudgetary)

The existence of support services for women who are the victims of aggression or abuses.

Most support services will be provided from the global service centre.

The activities for which the Office of Central Support Services is responsible fall under subprogramme 4, Support services, of programme 24, Management and support services, of the biennial programme plan for the period 2006 2007.

28D.10 The Assistant Secretary General for Central Support Services is responsible for all the activities of the Office of Central Support Services and its administration and management, as well as the coordination of common services.

(f) Providing support services to the Commission and the Economic and Social Council

Costs for common support services are estimated at 10,400.

28D.18 The Facilities and Commercial Services Division is responsible for this component of the central support services.

The Offices of Social Support Services address everyone who faces accumulated exclusion problems and is not covered by Welfare services or services for employment and training.

Support to these complex specialized information systems will be provided by the Executive Office, given the fact that they fall outside the scope of the Information Technology Services Division of the Office of Central Support Services.

The scientific personnel of the Offices of Social Support Services provide the following services

A 20 per cent delayed deployment factor has been applied to the phased deployment of 51 proposed positions in support of the Mission's expansion, as well as a 25 per cent delayed deployment factor in respect of the settling in grant and volunteer living allowances for the 160 proposed United Nations Volunteers to support the electoral process.

From this fleet, 5 fixed wing aircraft (2 heavy cargo and 3 medium STOL cargo passenger aircraft) and 15 helicopters (1 heavy cargo and 14 long range cargo passenger helicopters) would be used to provide the dedicated support for elections.

Support and supplementary services are provided, while the victim is approached individually.

(f) Ensuring that the support services provided meet the needs of programme activities.

28F.13 The Director of the Division for Management is responsible for providing effective leadership and direction on the management of administrative, conference and related support services for United Nations entities located at Vienna.

The Committee noted that remote sensing imagery and satellite based communications, including telemedicine services, were used in the disaster relief operations following the Indian Ocean region tsunami.

The objective of the Programme is to provide and arrange for the necessary infrastructure for the policy making organs (General Conference, Industrial Development Board, Programme and Budget Committee), including regular and special sessions and a range of intersessional meetings.
