Compared to 2003, total 2004 income, inclusive of interest income and other income, increased by 7 per cent to 882 million, and total 2004 expenditure increased by 12 per cent to 836 million.

The passage of the Single Account Law has meant that all customs tariffs, excise and sales tax revenues have flowed into a single account since 1 January 2005.

The UNCC secretariat noted that neither claimants nor claimant Governments had the power to compel the Governing Council to set the methods of calculation and of payment of interest.

(a) The regular budget is funded primarily from assessed contributions, with a minuscule proportion being provided from such other sources as interest income, sales publications and government contributions to the UNIDO regional and field offices.

Interest income in excess of the budgetary estimate ( 660,500) for the year 2004 is 57,870 actual amount, if any, due for distribution to eligible Member States will be determined at the end of the biennium.

Interest In its decision 16 (S AC.26 1992 16), the Governing Council specified that it would consider the methods of calculation and of payment of interest at a future date.
