Provision of services

Cooperatives have helped to bring information and services to far flung rural communities, empower workers, and expand financial services, healthcare, education, and housing.

The international community continues to play a pivotal role in the provision of basic services, such as facilities for education, health, water and sanitation.

The Government's capacity to deliver services to the population, particularly in the areas of education, health and sanitation, needs sustained attention.

Reconstruction should also lead to a revitalized national civil administration capable of providing basic public services such as water, energy, health care, education and infrastructure.

Health services in private health institutions are paid in full on a commercial basis.
