Over 1 400 Iraqis have already taken part in training courses.

These training sessions have been well received by all participants.

The objective of these training sessions was to present the national strategies for the development of statistics approach so that the consultants would be better informed on how to advise countries preparing their strategies.

Without their help it would not have been possible to launch important initiatives concerning arms destruction, management of arsenals, training courses, guidance on the submission of reports and the devising of methodologies, to mention only a few.

They are very active in providing advice to country offices, organizing trainings and producing manuals and handbooks, and they play an important role in engendering' regional activities.

Based on the results of the training, a Cadre of Women list was compiled for the Government.

Gender has been included in initial and in service teacher training courses for secondary school teachers, as part of the personal development module.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in its master Proposal of the Sector Plan, has the persuasion of women to raise their literary knowledge and to participate in training courses as one of its master objectives.
