The Working Group had been aware of the need to bear in mind issues such as commercial fraud, money laundering and other transnational crimes.

The former United Nations Commission on Transnational Corporations, which recently merged with UNCTAD as the Programme for Transnational Corporations, assists Governments in relations with transnational corporations.

Reaffirms the validity of the Commission on Transnational Corporations and the need to further strengthen its role as the focal point within the United Nations system for comprehensive intergovernmental consideration of issues concerning foreign direct investment as related to transnational corporations
