With regard to reclassification proposals, Ghana was pleased to note that the Secretary General had proposed to reclassify 44 posts, applying the criteria set out in paragraph 64 of General Assembly resolution 56 253.

Requests are made for (a) reclassification of the post of the head of the Section, (b) creation of a business analyst post and (c) addition of staff in the three units (Cashier, Payments and Accounts).

The amount of 5,452,600 provides for the salaries, common staff costs and staff assessment for 23 continuing posts, one additional post at the P 4 level and the reclassification of two posts (P 4 to P 5).

Staff members are required to apply for posts in the two biannual compendiums prior to the expiry of their standard assignment length or in the first compendium following the discontinuation or reclassification of the post they are encumbering.
