The Junior Professional Officer programme

To increase the efficiency in programme development and implementation at the Regional Office for Russia and Belarus, the Associate Programme Officer post (P 2) was replaced by two positions at the National Programme Officer level.

105. Encourages Member States participating in the Junior Professional Officer programme to increase sponsorship of Junior Professional Officers from developing countries

On 12 July 1991, the CBC reviewed the author's case and rejected his request for appointment to the post of Programme Officer A Scale A 10 but decided that he should remain on his old position of Programme Officer on the higher scale 8 9, as decided on 28 November 1985.

UNOCI proposes to create a new National Officer post for Protocol Officer and to redeploy the Protocol Officer, P 2 post to the Political Affairs Office as Associate Political Officer.

The Programme Officer post (P 3), initially approved for the Regional Office for Mexico and Central America, was redeployed to the Regional Office for the Caribbean to assist in programme development in the region.

The author and the other Programme Officers were appointed, retrospectively from 1 January 1981, to the post of Programme Officer A with the addition in brackets of (Personal title) in the salary Scale 8 9.

Depending on their duties, the prison officer, the prisoners' affairs officer and the supervisor of the women's prison all hold the rank of law enforcement officer.

At the same time, there are 25 newly established national programme officer posts in the field offices, and thus the total increase in Professional posts amounts to 23.

Further, a new full time Vendor Roster Officer was assigned and, as outlined in the revised 2006 United Nations Procurement Manual, the vendor management programme is under revision.

Regarding customs training, in all countries visited, the train the trainer programme had been completed, but implementation of the second phase of officer training had frequently experienced delays.

In his view, the new post under the new structure, which corresponded to the duties and responsibilities of his old post was Programme Officer A Scale A 10.
