As indicated in paragraph 28 of annex IV, the Office of Planning and Support is headed by an Assistant Secretary General and divided into a Planning Division and a Field Administration and Logistics Division.

The Division will consider how to further enhance efficient planning and early implementation of mandates.

28B.11 The Assistant Secretary General, Controller, is responsible for all the activities of the Office of Programme Planning, Budget and Accounts and supervises five organizational entities, namely, the Programme Planning and Budget Division, the Peacekeeping Financing Division, the Accounts Division, the Treasury and the Contributions Service.

25B. The activities of this subprogramme are carried out by the Programme Planning and Budget Division.

The Innocenti Research Centre and the Strategic Planning and Programme Guidance Section of the Division of Policy and Planning will be strengthened with one post each.

A new division responsible for human resources planning and development was established at the end of 2004.

Comment by the Administration. The Supply Division continues to work with the Information Technology Division to enhance the Cognos cube to include missing information, thereby further improving the supply planning process.

ESCWA further consulted with the Programme Planning and Budget Division and the Office of Internal Oversight Services on the matter.

The Board verified copies of 34 reports presented to it by the Programme Planning and Technical Cooperation Division of ESCWA.

In addition, the Supply Division had issued new supply planning directives, developed guidelines to strengthen end use monitoring and evaluation of supplies, and helped to improve ProMS to better assist supply planning.
