Noting the ongoing internal reform process of the Joint Inspection Unit aimed at further improving its effectiveness,

Oversight entails a wide spectrum of activities including, inter alia, internal audit, evaluation, inspection, monitoring and performance management.

The Office assists the Secretary General in fulfilling his internal oversight responsibilities in respect of the resources and staff of the Organization through monitoring, internal audit, inspection and evaluation and investigation.

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Consulting Division comprises the Evaluation Section, the Monitoring and Inspection Section and the internal Management Consulting Section.

We welcome the initiatives by several countries, among them the United States, to establish more dependable internal and external inspection machinery.
