First, there should be sound national policies and correct governance.

Developing countries would implement sound economic policies accompanied by good governance.

The first of those are sound national policies and correct governance.

But, even more fundamental than policies and governance will be the challenge of values.

But they cannot do that without putting in place effective and comprehensive governance policies.

The ADB s earlier policies were based on broad based growth, good governance, and social development.

It will demand global coordination of monetary policies, and some form of global economic governance.

Good governance. Effective policies, rule of law and transparency are prerequisites for sustainable forest management.

National and global governance and policy frameworks can either promote or hinder social development, depending on the quality of governance and the policies formulated within such frameworks.

Enabling institutions, laws, policies, budgets and participatory governance are important for the large scale expansion of high impact interventions.

Simply put, freedom, good governance and good macroeconomic policies in themselves are not enough to escape the poverty trap.

Promote good governance at all levels, pursue sound macroeconomic policies and put in place policies and investments to drive sustained economic growth, stimulate the private sector and promote employment generation

To receive loans from the IMF, countries must have certain good governance policies, as determined by the IMF, in place.

Household savings are also encouraged by efficient capital markets, prudent fiscal and monetary policies, a strong legal system and good governance.

Therefore, the Agenda 21 for culture proposes, on the one hand, strengthening local policies, asserting the importance of solid and autonomous cultural policies, and establishing bridges with other areas of local governance.

It is certainly cause for celebration that inflationary policies have been banished and governance has improved throughout much of the developing world.

These three trends overlap in a group of about 15 African countries that are strongly committed to accountable governance and sensible economic policies.

That includes shifts in the policies and governance of developing countries so that they can generate sustainable economic growth and development for themselves.

An earlier set of studies, for instance, showed that aid does make a difference in countries with good governance and sound macro economic policies.

(c) Meso level. Gender equality advocates have the knowledge and capacity to spearhead and transform policies and programmes to promote gender equality in democratic governance

In the ability of Governments to effectively plan and implement the policies that are necessary for good governance lies the first step towards broad capacity.

There was a need for an appropriate balance between commitments and flexibility for development policies, and, related to this, a need to ensure coherence in governance.

Rather, sustainable, pro poor growth is the key, requiring political stability that is, peace and security for individuals good governance, and ownership of policies by all stakeholders.

Throughout this exercise, we are continuously reminded of the primary responsibility of developing countries to implement sound economic policies and ensure good governance and the rule of law.

Governance by analogy can easily lead to muddled governance.
