(b) Fixed exchange rate mechanism for the replenishment of the Multilateral Fund For the last two replenishments of the Multilateral Fund, the Parties have agreed on a fixed exchange rate mechanism with the objective of promoting the timely payment of contributions and ensuring that there is no adverse impact on the level of available resources of the Multilateral Fund.

Improvement in the rate of implementation of programmes for 2004 was acknowledged and further reduction of the surplus fund balance was encouraged.
