The Ministry gave this task to the Norwegian Research Council, which engaged three research institutes carry out the evaluation.

Country level evaluation and research activities will also be examined during evaluations of global priorities.

The Anísio Teixeira National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (INEP) of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Special Secretariat on Policies for Women held a workshop on the inclusion of gender, race and sexual orientation indicators in the System for Basic Education Evaluation Research (SAEB).

In 2004, the European Council had endorsed the European Union Drug Strategy (2005 2012), which concentrated on the reduction of both supply and demand and on international cooperation, research and evaluation.

The Caribbean Community had established an implementation agency for crime and security, which operated as a nerve centre for research, evaluation and monitoring, project development and implementation, and information centralization and dissemination.

Regional networks such as the Vector Resistance Networks in Africa, Eastern Mediterranean and South East Asia, as well as research institutions could play an active role in the evaluation of new products.

In a users' survey conducted by the Evaluation and Communications Research Unit of the Department of Public Information, United Nations Communications Group members agreed that the Group was an effective coordination tool.
