It is more powerful than a DFA due to its infinite memory stack, although only the top element of the stack is accessible at any time.

The action table specifies a shift to state 2, and so state 2 is pushed onto the stack (again, remember that all the state information is in the stack, so shifting to state 2 is the same thing as pushing 2 onto the stack).

And if you look at how the layers stack, you'll find that no matter how you stack folds and sheets, a sheet can never penetrate a fold.
