Cooperating in the inspections arranged by OPCW for compliance with the Convention

The 168 Member States of the OPCW implement the Chemical Weapons Convention by declaring, securing, and destroying, under international on site verification, any chemical weapons stockpiles.

While the OPCW is not an anti terrorist agency, full implementation of the Convention is recognized as constituting one effective means of addressing the menace of terrorism in the chemical weapons field.

My delegation fully supports any initiative by the OPCW to encourage those States to join the Convention.

In order to facilitate implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, the bill of the Law of National Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention was presented to the Parliament for adoption in 2004.
