Through regional action programmes (RAPs), the African, Asian and Latin American and Caribbean affected country Parties identify the priority thematic areas for coordination and cooperation at the regional level.

These priority areas are operationalized through regional thematic programme networks (TPNs) which promote capacity building, cooperation in activities that benefit from a regional approach, and exchange of information and technical know how.
