Protocol to Amend the 1963 Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage and Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage

Uruguay's accession to the Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage and the Optional Protocol concerning the Compulsory Settlement of Disputes was approved.

The Court also found that the YCJA was not inconsistent with the Convention on the Rights of the Child or the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage and Optional Protocol concerning the Compulsory Settlement of Disputes (Act No. 17,051 of 14 December 1998)

(a) Recognize the de jure and de facto applicability of the Fourth Geneva Convention to OPT and the occupied Syrian Golan and distinguish in all circumstances between military objectives and civilian persons and objects

(b) To comply with their obligations as assumed under relevant provisions of international human rights instruments, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child2 and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

The conditions of such work could not be regulated in detail in a general convention relating to civil and political rights, even though this might seem necessary in the case of permissible compulsory labour.

He goes on to say that Cambodia should ratify the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which it signed on 27 September 2004, and become a party to the ILO Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Convention, 1989 (No. 169) and the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
