Here let me place special emphasis on the allocation of 0.15 to 0.2 per cent of gross national income to official development assistance for the least developed countries.

In conclusion, I reiterate that Syria will spare no effort to achieve the stability of Lebanon, because that is at the heart of our strategy and of the aspirations of the two brotherly Syrian and Lebanese peoples.

May I assure you, Mr. President, of the determination of this delegation to work actively with you, your facilitators and Member States in the continued preparatory process under your able leadership.
