The communications sector accounts for 11.9 per cent of GDP.

In 2002, under pressure from international bodies, Bahrain implemented its telecommunications law which included the establishment of an independent Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

This session will focus on technical and commercial developments in telecommunications that have required institutional and other changes in the telecommunications sector.
