The third session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 3), convened pursuant to decision 1 COP.5, was officially opened in Bonn, Germany, on 2 May 2005, by Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould El Ghaouth, Chairperson of the CRIC.

A specific and unified strategy needed to be adopted to ensure implementation of the final documents of the Durban conference.
