Ensuring that the application of national control measures do not restrict or limit the access of States Parties to the fuel market

If the office finds that there is a credible case of retaliation or threat of retaliation, it will refer the matter to the Office of Internal Oversight Services for investigation and may also recommend interim protection measures.

Apart from any external review that may be undertaken as a result of the Secretary General's proposals above, measures have already been taken to strengthen the investigation function of the Office of Internal Oversight Services.

As a result of its five year review of the mandate of the Office of Internal Oversight Services, the General Assembly, in its resolution 59 272, adopted new measures aimed at strengthening the Office's independence and reporting mechanism.

The Supervision Authority conducts financial supervision in the name of the State and is independent in the conduct of financial supervision.
