Montreal Protocol Compliance Assistance Programme

During the biennium, funds mobilization efforts will aim at increasing the coverage of, and contributions to the trade capacity building trust fund, established during the International Conference on Financing for Development, and will expand further thematic cooperation with individual donor Governments and the European Union on this high priority.

The first BioTrade national programme in the continent is currently being developed in Uganda.

UNEP delivers this assistance through a programme called the Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) that operates from the UNEP regional offices.

The UNCTAD Trade and Development Board had been reviewing regularly the progress made in implementation of the Programme of Action.

UNEP has also previously advised stated that it wais providing Compliance Assistance Programme CAP support in the development of the Party's policy instruments.

He also noted that the UNEP Compliance Assistance Programme only applied to Montreal Protocol activities.

These courses existed before the creation of the CAP and were given by international consultants, then followed by the policy and enforcements officers of the CAP teams for courses implemented by UNEP.
