This partly reflects the failure of public policy to ameliorate the distributive consequences of rapid economic growth.

Notes that the Secretariat has been collecting information on the experiences of audit committees within the United Nations system and other international organizations, and requests the Secretary General to report on and provide an assessment of its findings to the General Assembly at its sixtieth session.

My reason for reflecting on my country's experience is to try to draw a number of general conclusions.

The Public Administration Act, enacted in 2001, brought in a new management framework focused on results and increased accountability.

The consultations are centred on water, health and education, and the initial findings will be reported to the General Assembly in 2005.44

Then the results obtained are compared with the expected results.

On average only half the students who sit the tawjihi actually pass. Tawjihi results are announced in the media, and public celebrations are held for those who pass.

It should be noted that since the adoption by the General Assembly of resolution 58 269, the Joint Inspection Unit has issued a comprehensive series of reports on results based management, entitled Managing for results in the United Nations system .

The plenary discussion elaborated on the methods of assessing knowledge gaps, the format of a conceptual map, ways of interacting with stakeholders, identification of stakeholders and communication of results.

Build in mechanisms for developing more synergy between related regional programmes so as to optimize strategic impact of each and achieve overall results.

The office of the Director General and the office of the Comptroller General reviewed the submissions for ensuring overall consistency of the major programmes programmes and components with major policy documents, and ensuring compliance with the principles of RBM and RBB by reviewing outcomes, performance indicators and outputs.

After constituency boundary changes for the 2010 general election, her majority of 42 votes was one of the closest results of the entire election.

I thank the Co Chairs of the various plenary consultations, the Committee Chairs and others who have worked so hard to bring about results of which we should be proud.

It is thus incumbent upon the Member States and the Office of the President of the General Assembly to implement the decisions and commitments contained in the Outcome document and translate them into concrete action.

To carry out serious evaluation, public organizations need to clearly state intended results and develop indicators for measuring the impact of their activities.

The Working Group concluded that while the Secretariat has made significant efforts to introduce results based management principles and related systems, the change towards results oriented planning, budgeting and performance assessment is not yet complete.

The results were predictable.

The results are amazing.
