I continue to ask myself, Why?

Ever since, I have wondered whether I was right or wrong.

And whenever death arrives, with its many reasons, I ask myself, Why am I surprised? Then I value life anew for a few days.

When I was visiting my terminally ill father in a hospital, I was asking myself, how does anybody get well in a place that sounds like this?

We put these two photographs side by side on our website, and someone said, When I look at the first photo, I ask myself, what was he thinking?

And then I ask myself, shouldn't the predominant nationality of the victims be a factor to take into consideration? This occurred on Latino Night in the nightclub Pulse.

I would like to ask a question.

And especially, you know, as a small brown woman in a little college, in the upper northwest part of our country, far away from the areas of power and money, I really have to ask myself, What can I do about this?

When I ask people What's wrong with having a conversation?

When I ask people and I've been asking people this question for about 10 years I ask them, Where do you go when you really need to get something done?

I keep asking myself why did Obama choose the most repressive regimes in the Middle East to honour not only with his presence, but also to use as a launchpad for his Utopian vision of a peaceful and democratic Middle East? A vision that will continue to remain as illusive as a desert mirage for us Middle Eastners.
