Several members of the GoE, experts included in the Roster of Independent Experts, and others, assisted in the review process.

Development of a roster of GHS experts (in cooperation with the secretariat of the GHS Subcommittee)

Several experts working on managing the fund were identified from the Electoral Assistance Division roster.

(a) There is a necessity to involve the members of the Roster of Independent Experts in the development of the network.

The Executive Board shall draw on the expertise necessary to perform its functions, including from the UNFCCC roster of experts.

The secretariat selects experts for these teams from nominations by Parties to the roster of experts. Invitations to participate in the review are copied to the national focal point.

(a) To take note of the roster of experts nominated by Parties who could be invited to support the work of the Committee

Experts shall be nominated by Parties to the Convention to the roster of experts and, as appropriate, by intergovernmental organizations, in accordance with guidance provided for this purpose by the COP.

The programme, called the Icelandic Crisis Response Unit, maintains a roster of civilian experts who can join international missions on short notice.

Paragraph 10 of the terms of reference provides for the establishment of a roster of experts who are not members of the Committee and who the Committee may invite to support it in its work. It further provides that Parties may designate experts for inclusion in the roster, noting their areas of expertise or specific substance knowledge.

To further increase the overall technical cooperation programme on NHRIs, OHCHR continued to expand its roster of consultants and experts practitioners on NHRIs.

The escrow account manager then invites the country to select a team, suggesting what skills are required and perhaps even providing a roster of experts.

On 3 June 2005, the Secretariat sent a letter to Parties inviting them to nominate individuals for inclusion in the roster of experts who could be invited to support the work of the Committee, indicating that the nomination should include the identification of areas of expertise or specific knowledge and the curriculum vitae of the nominee. The experts that have been nominated by Parties have been included in the roster of experts established by the Secretariat.

Moreover, the secretariat submitted the names of experts from the roster to serve as reviewers for the MA reports, and information on the progress of the MA has been sent to the focal points as appropriate.

The Secretary General is working on a roster of experts in justice and the rule of law, and the European Union is developing similar rapid civilian deployment capacities, as are many Members States, including the United Kingdom.

A roster of best practices could help in this regard.

Paragraph 11 of the terms of reference gives the Committee the responsibility of establishing and applying criteria, to be approved by the Conference of the Parties, for the selection of experts from the roster to provide the needed expertise.

A roster of potential consultants has been established and is regularly updated.

Paragraph 12 provides that, if no expert on the roster has specific expertise on a certain issue, the Committee may invite other experts to participate in the work of the Committee in accordance with the criteria referred to in paragraph 11.

It was also suggested that the Committee act as an advisory panel to identify possible new mandate holders, draw up a roster of experts or identify protection gaps in order to guide the Commission Council's deliberations in the creation of new mandates.

With respect to supplier performance, ESCWA advises that, in the absence of a post of Supplier Roster Officer, the job description of one staff will include periodical maintenance of the supplier roster and relevant files.

In building a viable roster of qualified candidates, various contingencies must be considered.

Vacancy announcements will be issued for all vacant non roster posts.
