Like many others before me, I join in congratulating Mexico on becoming the one hundredth State party to the Rome Statute.

2. Also welcomes the efforts undertaken by the Government of Mongolia to celebrate the eight hundredth anniversary of Mongolian statehood in 2006

We are certain that this one hundredth ratification of the Statute will bring about further action aimed at achieving the Court's universality.

Here, we cannot fail to point out that the one hundredth State to ratify was Mexico, a cherished country from our region.

Recalling its resolution 61 19 of 28 November 2006, entitled Commemoration of the two hundredth anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade ,
