The Group monitored and reported on Afghanistan's compliance with the Ottawa Treaty.

Resolving the outstanding issues concerning non compliance following a review of the report of the Open ended Ad Hoc Working Group on Non compliance, which met immediately prior to the present meeting.

The present report, prepared in compliance with that resolution, covers the activities of the Group from March 2004 to February 2005.

The Conference agreed to establish a contact group, as suggested by the Working Group, to be chaired by Mr. Langlois, to continue the deliberations on non compliance during the current meeting of the Conference of the Parties.

Accordingly, a meeting of the Open ended Ad Hoc Working Group on Non Compliance (the Working Group ) will be held on 28 and 29 April 2006 at the Geneva International Conference Centre, 15 rue Varembé, Geneva, Switzerland.
