In order to integrate security management into field operations, heads of mission from the Department of Peacekeeping Operations or the Department of Political Affairs had been appointed as designated officials in 12 countries, as well as in Kosovo and Western Sahara.

Let me take this opportunity to commend the various branches of the Secretariat, in particular those within the Department of Political Affairs and the Department for Disarmament Affairs, that are providing valuable support to the work of the three Committees.
