In accordance with this provision, ICSC promulgated revised scales of pensionable remuneration effective 1 September 2004.

In accordance with Article 54 (b) of the regulations of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund, the scale of pensionable remuneration for the Professional and higher categories should be adjusted on the same date as the net remuneration of officials serving in New York.

The three previous valuations those as at 31 December 2001, 31 December 1999 and 31 December 1997 had revealed surpluses of 2.92, 4.25 and 0.36 per cent of pensionable remuneration, respectively.
