My good offices efforts in Myanmar continued, albeit with little progress.

We in Serbia and Montenegro appreciate those efforts very much, despite the occasional strong assessments critical of my country, as demonstrated in her briefing today.

I would therefore like to conclude my statement by reiterating that Japan is determined to redouble its efforts to bring about a culture of peace.
