The Department sponsors a Security Information Group composed of the following offices and departments of the Secretariat the Department of Political Affairs, the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, the Department of Safety and Security and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The Defence Intelligence and Security Group within the Department of Defence supports the services and co operate with the civilian agencies within the Australian Intelligence Community.
