After removing Muhammad Ali Shah from power, the Grand Majles placed Ahmad Shah on the throne.

The Durrani Empire was established in Afghanistan by Ahmad Shah Durrani in 1747.

It then began funding and supporting Ahmad Shah Massoud's Northern Alliance against the Taliban.

Stripped of all his remaining powers, Ahmad Shah went into exile with his family in 1923.
