We must seize this opportunity to show that we can confront terrorism.

We should face up to this issue.

We face difficult decisions, but with courage and vision we can build a United Nations for the future, a United Nations that serves all the world's people, because that is the best way to serve every single one of us.

But we must recognize that it is now facing problems.

But if our civilization is worth defending, why is it that fundamentalists, of whatever stripe, have the most committed fighters on their side? Can we oppose them with anything but individual rights?

Third, we must counter the ideology of the terrorists.

Coming to Grips with History

We are facing a violent crisis.

Can Energy Be Governed?

In a word, no.

We can't see the corridors, and we can't see what it is that brings together a tuna, a leatherback and an albatross.

We are also failing in the application of soft power.

On a global scale, we are living in daily risk of terrorist attacks.

Basically, there are two species of Israeli hawks call one kind ideological and the other strategic.

Admittedly, the bar is low when making this comparison. But our policymakers did clear it.

But we wish to state clearly here that when we go out into the world, we encounter barriers that undermine our growth.

But we can ask, Where is the rose?

There is no irrationality here.

The price is appropriate.

Because A, we can make it easy, and B, we can maybe give people a reason to act today, rather than wait till tomorrow.

In 2009, we face a similar set of circumstances.

Yet, we are met with the same and even more brutal suppression.

Yet we still do not take the threat seriously enough.

In desire, we want an Other, somebody on the other side that we can go visit, that we can go spend some time with, that we can go see what goes on in their red light district.

To be sure, we have very diverse societies, but we also face new forms of inequality.

What kind of a world can we be making?
