Funds for pension and disability insurance are provided for by the insured, employers and the State.

It is acquired by work, i.e. obligatory pension and disability insurance and voluntary insurance, as provided under the law.

Rights to pension or disability insurance are acquired and exercised under conditions stipulated by law.

The total annual personal taxable income must not exceed the amount of annual pension paid to uninsured old people by O.G.A. (Agricultural Insurance Organization).

NPC The non pensionable component is that part of net salary excluded from application of staff assessment in determination of the gross pensionable salary.

Female workers aged 55, having paid social insurance for 25 years and male workers aged 60, having paid social insurance for 30 years, are entitled to equal maximum monthly pension in accordance with the Government's regulations.

E. Pension payments to former Secretaries General

In order to carry out rights to pensions and disability insurance, two Entity funds for pension disability insurance were formed.

The amount of the Spanish pension in 1995 was 62,174 pesetas (373.67 euros) and the amount of the Swiss pension was 578 Swiss francs, both per month.

They include obligatory pension or disability insurance and voluntary insurance for people in accordance with the laws, rights to old age pensions, disability pension due to reduction or loss of work ability and the death of the insured, and the provision of social security to insured persons and their family members.

Contributions towards pension are the same for both sexes.
