Improved prenatal care

Prenatal healthcare services during pregnancy, and post natal care are free of charge.

Prenatal coverage 80 per cent.

There is no insurance for these cases. No prenatal test is done to the fetus.

This includes prenatal care, childbirth (by midwives or obstetricians, at home or in the hospital), as well as postpartum postnatal care for mother and baby at home.

The maternal mortality rate is estimated at approximately 498 per 100,000 live births, and the causes of death are many, including limited access to skilled staff during delivery, poor prenatal care, and lack of emergency care.

Prenatal diagnosis is available, and is useful when a known genetic risk factor is present.

The maternity leave must commence 6 weeks before the confinement date certified by the doctor.

Neonatal mortality Early neonatal mortality refers to a death of a live born baby within the first seven days of life, while late neonatal mortality covers the time after 7 days until before 28 days.
