His delegation was pleased that the Fund's value had increased substantially and that actuarial valuations had shown surpluses since 1997.

The new global Evaluation Committee adopted a plan of action to strengthen the evaluation function throughout UNICEF.

The Working Group agreed that training should be offered to top management, senior managers and staff at large to enhance their understanding of the value and techniques of self evaluation (see annex, action item 15).
