The work of the Forum, and the objectives of sustainable forest management, are inextricably linked to sustainable consumption and the production of timber and non timber forest products.

But with lots of intelligent people focusing on whether food is organic or local, or whether we're being nice to animals, the most important issues just aren't being addressed.

Now light and temperature vary with each window's microclimate, so a window farm requires a farmer, and she must decide what kind of crops she is going to put in her window farm, and whether she is going to feed her food organically.

So good governance is the key to long term stability. But, like stability, good governance cannot be imposed from the outside rather, it must develop organically, supported by sturdy roots within a society.

Can farm raised salmon be organic, when its feed has nothing to do with its natural diet, even if the feed itself is supposedly organic, and the fish themselves are packed tightly in pens, swimming in their own filth?
