The President (spoke in French) On behalf of the General Assembly, I wish to thank the Interim President of the Republic of Haiti for the statement he has just made.

Mr. Ian Rae, temporary co chair of the Chemical Technical Options Committee (CTOC), reviewed topics from each of the seven broad categories of issues covered in the 2005 progress report.

When a member of the Committee is consistently unable to carry out her or his functions for any cause other than absence of a temporary nature, the Chairperson shall draw the above rule to her or his attention.

In accordance with the decision taken at the 5266th meeting, the President extended an invitation under rule 37 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure to His Excellency Mr. Hoshyar Zebari, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iraq and, under rule 39 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure, to Mr. Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, Special Representative of the Secretary General for Iraq.
