The Zero Hunger Program, introduced as one of the first actions of President Lula's Government, is a public policy with social inclusion as the main objective.

For this purpose, and for the first time in history, the Brazilian Government placed the theme of gender, in social reintegration, as one of the criteria for the discussion of projects supported by resources from the National Penitentiary Fund (FUNPEN).

That is why it is so crucially important to ensure funds for the rehabilitation and reintegration phase of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) processes.
