It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring.

« فإنما هي » ضمير مبهم يفسره « زجرة » أي صيحة « واحدة فإذا هم » أي الخلائق أحياء « ينظرون » ما يفعل بهم.

Yours shall be your requital, and mine shall be my requital.

« لكم دينكم » الشرك « ولي دين » الإسلام وهذا قبل أن يؤمر بالحرب وحذف ياء الإضافة القراء السبعة وقفا ووصلا وأثبتها يعقوب في الحالين.

And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings,

« وفُتِّحت السماء » بالتشديد والتخفيف شققت لنزول الملائكة « فكانت أبوابا » ذات أبواب.

All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.

كل الايدي ترتخي وكل الركب تصير ماء.

Whereby heaven shall be split, and its promise shall be performed.

« السماء منفطر » ذات انفطار، أي انشقاق « به » بذلك اليوم لشدته « كان وعده » تعالى بمجيء ذلك « مفعولا » أي هو كائن لا محالة.

His strength shall be famished. Calamity shall be ready at his side.

تكون قوته جائعة والبوار مهيأ بجانبه.

Theirs shall be fruit therein and theirs shall be whatsoever they ask for.

« لهم فيها فاكهة ولهم » فيها « ما يدَّعون » يتمنون.

His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.

تكون قوته جائعة والبوار مهيأ بجانبه.

As for those who shall be wretched. they shall be in the Fire, wherein for them shall be panting and roaring.

« فأما الذين شقوا » في علمه تعالى « ففي النار لهم فيها زفير » صوت شديد « وشهيق » صوت ضعيف.

And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:

ويذل الانسان ويحط الرجل وعيون المستعلين توضع.

Its length shall be a cubit, and its breadth a cubit. It shall be square, and its height shall be two cubits. Its horns shall be of one piece with it.

طوله ذراع وعرضه ذراع. مربعا يكون. وارتفاعه ذراعان. منه تكون قرونه.

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

كل واد يمتلئ وكل جبل واكمة ينخفض وتصير المعوجات مستقيمة والشعاب طرقا سهلة.
