The name of the file is given in the.htaccess configuration, and can be anything although ".htpasswd" is the canonical name.

ويعطى الاسم ‎.htpasswd من خلال إعدادات ملف ‎.htaccess ويمكن منحه أي اسم، ولكن الاسم الشائع له هو ‎.htpasswd.

If no index page is defined in the configuration, or no such file exists on the server, either an error or directory listing will be served to the browser.
