Staff costs account for 64 per cent of the regular budget, of which 60 per cent represents the cost of area staff and four per cent represents the cost of international staff.

The recommendation for the selection of staff against these positions will be subject to the review of the OHCHR internal Advisory Panel on Personnel Issues (APPI) to ensure a fair and transparent staff selection mechanism.
