In 1802, the Ministry of Naval Military Forces was established (renamed to Naval Ministry in 1815).

Border surveillance between authorized crossing points is incumbent upon the Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF) Borders and Foreigners Service Ministry of Interior, along with the Direcção Geral de Autoridade Marítima (DGAM) Directorate General of Maritime Authority Ministry of Defence as for the sea border.

Ministry of the Navy Following the Armistice of Mudanya on 11 October 1922, the former Ottoman Ministry of the Navy ( Bahriye Nazırlığı ) building in the Kasımpaşa quarter of Istanbul, on the Golden Horn, became the headquarters of the Istanbul Naval Command on 14 November 1922.

The establishment of the Ministry of the Navy ( Bahriye Vekâleti ) of the Republic of Turkey, headquartered in Ankara, was decided by the Grand National Assembly on 29 December 1924, and Topçu İhsan Bey (İhsan Eryavuz) was appointed the first (and only) Naval Minister of Turkey.

In 1917, at the demand of US officials, the National Assembly was dissolved, and officials were designated to write a new constitution, which was largely dictated by officials in the US State Department and US Navy Department.

There should be close oversight over receipts from maritime operations. LISCR should be audited by a reputed international auditing firm without any further delay.

The Cuban Ministry of Transport was working in coordination with Customs and other authorities to simplify administrative procedures and had successfully improved the flow of maritime trade information and the transit time of maritime traffic in Cuba.

The navy did not sport the royal titles common with other European navies like the British Royal Navy.
