The purpose of this study is to support decision making by the COP on a possible financial mechanism that would enable developing countries to adequately implement relevant provisions of the Convention.

As a first step, it had carried out an in depth study of the needs of women affected by armed conflict and the adequacy of international law to respond to those needs.
