Application of the memorandum of understanding between the Conference of the Parties and the Council of the Global Environment Facility

The Conference of the Parties and the GEF Council each adopts the memorandum of understanding.

In order to facilitate the identification of the relevant global trends, a guidance note on responses was attached to the correspondence.

For each of the three conventions, GEF enters into a memorandum of understanding with the Conference of the Parties that sets out the relationship between the Conference of the Parties and GEF.

Nigeria called on the Global Environment Facility and the Parties to the Convention to conclude their memorandum of understanding as soon as possible.

Memorandum of understanding. With the aim of further enhancing cooperation between the United Nations and WCO, the signing of a memorandum of understanding was suggested in the previous report of the Monitoring Group.

(m) Further development and finalization, in consultation with the secretariat of GEF, of a draft memorandum of understanding between the Conference of the Parties of the Stockholm Convention and the GEF Council

Administration The GEF Secretariat prepared a draft Memorandum of Understanding (draft MOU) between the GEF and the COP that presented the respective responsibilities of the GEF and COP in the operation of the Stockholm financial mechanism.

The Committee may also wish to note that the GEF secretariat submitted a note on this subject to the GEF Council at its second session.

The Memorandum of Understanding gives WHO and UNDP joint responsibility for the development of such a programmatic approach, nationally and internationally.

Each technical note describes the measure in the WTO context and provides information on costs, benefits and implementation issues.

Following the Secretariat's draft MOU, the GEF issued its draft operational program on POPs.
