Guyana had presented an initial report to the Committee on the Rights of the Child in January 2003, highlighting successes and future activities and focus.

Furthermore, EMPRETEC Ghana undertook three installation missions to Guyana to train local staff in business development services.

These efforts can serve as a prototype for assisting other countries such as Guyana, where the current forest preservation scheme does not work so well.

Development of national GHS action plans in pilot countries (Senegal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Zambia) and technical assistance (ILO) to Fiji and Guyana

To enhance the promotion of business skills development, the EMPRETEC programme had been introduced in Guyana and Angola, and a new EMPRETEC video had been produced.

Observers are Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, Israel, Madagascar, Paraguay, Yemen, African Union, European Community, Holy See and International Committee of the Red Cross.

Guyana reported consumption of 6.300 ODP tonnes of Annex B, group I, (other CFCs) in 2004.

At the 3rd meeting, on 5 April, statements were made by the representatives of Guyana (on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Caribbean Community) and Bolivia.
