Dracunculiasis, also called guinea worm disease (GWD), is an infection by the guinea worm.

The first well known worm was the Internet Worm of 1988, which infected SunOS and VAX BSD systems.

It is partly based on the legend of the Lambton Worm.

Guinea worm disease has been known since ancient times.

What is it? It's an elephant being eaten by a snake, of course.

It was presumably introduced into Guam via military cargo and has no natural predators in Guam.
