Marketing of the gas awaits the completion of the Alaska gas pipeline to carry it to the lower 48 states.

26 October The main gas pipeline from Azerbaijan into Armenia and Nakhichevan is reopened.

Russian gas is imported via Ukraine (Friendship pipeline), Norwegian gas is transported through Germany.

In Turkmenistan also, gas exports are transshipped through a pipeline to the Russian Federation.
