The relevant confidence building measures are clearly laid out in the Sharm el Sheikh understandings and in phase one of the road map.

They were able to reach understandings on a number of important issues, most importantly a commitment to cease all acts of violence.

In 1972, the Committee reached consensus on basic understandings contained in two separate memorandums. Together, these memorandums form the guidelines of the Zangger Committee today.
