Comment by the Administration. UNICEF will ensure that payables and receivables are disclosed in the financial statements for the 2004 2005 biennium, in accordance with United Nations system accounting standards.

It urged the Agency to continue to pursue with the Palestinian Authority the objective of VAT exemption for UNRWA and the reimbursement of the remaining outstanding VAT.

183. The Board recommends regular and aggressive follow up by field missions on the collection of all surcharges and contributions due from other parties.

The net cash available amounted to 7.2 million and uncollected assessments and other receivables amounted to 37.7 million.

The Special Committee notes that there has been continued improvement in addressing delays in the payment of reimbursement and claims, and encourages its progress.
